Our experience was made so special not only by the amazing nature and wildlife but the wonderful hospitality of all the staff in Asanja. We were met by the extremely knowledgeable and welcoming guide Sherif from Seronera airport and from the start of our journey we were so impressed by the knowledge and expertise of Sherif. We enjoyed 3 days of safari and Sherif ensured that we did not miss out on experiencing all of the wonders of the Serengeti including sunrise and sunset drives to see the wildlife and nature. Our experience was enhanced by the food prepared in the camp which was 5 stars, we were particularly grateful for the delicious wake-up fresh coffee and biscuits before our sunrise safari. The tent was beautifully decorated and comfortable and had all the amenities you need while still feeling in the wild while seeing elephants and zebras outside the tent. The camp staff created a welcoming and “wild” experience for us to enjoy and we were greatly entertained by “bush tv” at the camp fire. We cannot recommend Asanja, the staff and our guide Sherif highly enough who made it a trip of a lifetime for us and we felt very privileged to have experienced the wild Serengeti and safari thanks to their expertise. Melanie A2025-03-13Verified Full blown luxury tented camp experience It was an incredible experience at the Asanja Moru tented camp! The food was excellent, and the staff friendly and attentive. The camp (individual ensuite tents and main tent) was open to nature with no electric fences. One night we definitely had a large non-hoofed animal on our deck that made the floor boards creak, however the thick walls of the tent made me feel comfortable (my wife on the other hand not so much)! The camp was a good drive from the airstrip, along some rough roads, but our driver Simon certainly made the most of the drive spotting animals along the way and we had a boxed lunch the second day to minimize back tracking which made for a wonderful long day spotting animals (and having close encounters) in the Serengeti. Upon our departure the camp staff sang the Jambo song, and each couple were given a bottle of wine which came in very handy later that day when at our subsequent camp’s afternoon game drive the Land Cruiser broke down and we spent an interesting hour and a half enjoying wine while waiting to be picked up. MartinJill19902025-03-03Verified Amazing stay in the Serengeti My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Asanja Moru. The camp is located in Serengeti National Park making it an ideal place to stay to see wildlife and experience the expansive landscape. The accommodations and staff are top notch. Isaya, the manager, and staff are friendly, attentive and courteous. All the meals were delicious & generously portioned. They easily accommodate dietary restrictions too. The rooms are very spacious as well as quite private. The bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable! The shower amenities were well stocked too. Highly recommend and would definitely stay at Asanja Moru again. LisaH2025-03-01Verified Mooie Afrika ervaring Zeer Afrikaans kamp, prachtige tenten, luxe ingericht. Mooie kamers, hoge service! Eten fantastisch. Omdat de nachten fris waren, werd er een kruikje in bed gelegd, zeer attent Goede vriendelijke service. Goed uitgangspunt voor safari Elly bronsgeest2025-02-06Verified A one in lifetime experience We stayed 2 nights in the family tent of Asanja Moru during Christmas 2024. The camp is super well situated with lions and leopards nearby (see below). We stayed in a family tent which is not only very vast but also slighlty more remote. The lodge staff manages to be both very professional and kind which is a hard balance to find and only performing teams reach this exquisite balance. Staff always went above and beyond and both diners were delicious. One was a delightful "surprise"...to the point we (including staff) had to accelerate when we heard lions roar less than 50 mts away. The team handled the situation in a very professional manner, protecting us (guests) and scaring lions away for the night. we heard their roars in the night....the real safari experience. we spent 4 days with our guide Sharifu, part of the Asanja team. Sharif is super knowledgeable, having been a guide for the past 16 y. with a talented eye, he spotted wildlife (all the big 5 + some more rare ones like serval), making our safari so special. A talented driver, he shared with us his passion for animals and the bush, and got our kids engaged at all time. Would highly recommend, Asanja as a tour guide and a place to stay. Our safari went super smoothly, from booking (direct with them) to our drop at the airport, thanks to the whole team and a specific attention from Sharif. Regina S2024-12-30Verified Woke up to 6 giraffes in the garden. We have so many good things to say about Asanja Maru camp. The Asanja team were incredibly hospitable, the food was amazing and the accommodation was glamping on steroids. Utterly fabulous. Top tip: you need a guide to find this place. Overnight rain makes for a 4x4 off-road experience you’ll not forget. Everywhere we’ve been in Tanzania offers generous and genuine hospitality. Asanja, which is quite small & intimate, far and way exceeded our high expectations. Stay here if you can. Rebecca C2024-12-21Verified Magical spot immersed in nature surrounded by animals and a wonderful team of staff We stayed at Asanja Moru for 3 days and I didn’t want to leave. The staff were amazing and when the Safari company told them it was our anniversary, they simply couldn’t do enough for us, including pots of tea brought to our tent each morning and a very special “surprise” evening where they put on dinner for two in a private enclosure in the bush, complete with linen table cloth, lanterns and a blazing campfire. An anniversary cake they made for us was presented with a staff singing a Swahili song and clapping along. Asanja had the best location of all the lodges we stayed at. Out in the open of the magnificent Serengeti plains. It was magic being right smack in the middle of all that nature. Each night we fell asleep to either hyena whooping behind our tent or elephant snapping branches as they fed. One day, when we returned a bit earlier from game viewing to enjoy some red wine and nibbles in comfy armchairs looking out onto the plains, the wildebeest migration came by right in front of us! A long line of them and just as they reached the middle of the frame of our photo, they stopped and appeared to have an impromptu discussion as they looked over at us. After several minutes, they decided to ignore us and continue on their way. One night elephant came into the camp. Moses, the Maasai security used a triple spotlight on them so we could see. They were close. The light didn’t seem to bother them at all and they hung around over night. The next morning we woke up to elephant a few meters behind our tent. They generally ignored us. Then we caught on video a whole interaction between a staff member trying to shoo the whole herd away from the hot water system, and the bull elephant turning around to mock charge the man. My husband, who’s a veteran of almost two dozen safaris, said he was never in danger as he hid behind one of the tents. We loved waking up to the expansive distant views of the plains, the quiet and the privacy as it’s a very small and intimate lodge. One evening we had it all to ourselves. The immersion in nature was just sensational. Moses, Khalida and Bariki were especially attentive without being intrusive. We have every intention of returning to this magical place Junie2024-11-13Verified Excellent! The lodge is located within beautiful nature and we were able to had two awesome and unforgettable nights. Everything from the food to the service to the quality of the tents was amazing! We will definitely come back! Especially Kafinda, the housekeeper, was amazing. Every night he prepared us a fire (bush tv) right in front of our tent and surprised us with a hot water bottle in our bed for the night! He was very caring and service oriented. All in all we can highly recommend a stay at ASANJA Moru!! Ann-Sophie & Nils Nils H2024-11-01
