Tarangire National Park

Serengeti National Park

  • DAY1: Your driver will welcome you at Kilimanjaro / Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire boasts large herds of Elephant and provides excellent habitat for Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and many Antelope species unique to East Africa. Towards evening head to the Asanja selected camp to freshen up and dinner. After dinner go for a Night Game Drive & return to the camp

  • DAY2: After breakfast drive to LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK for a game drive. Highlights of LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, the legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.

  • DAY3: After breakfast go for a day game drive with packed lunch boxes at the NGORONGORO CRATER. Descent into the crater to experience the majestic beauty of caldera. The NGORONGORO CRATER, at 2286m above the sea level, is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meters from the crater floor. It is truly a breathtaking natural wonder. Optionally visit Olduvai Gorge by paying the entrance fees directly. Olduvai Gorge known as ‘the cradle of mankind, museum which displays a variety of fossils including a cast of 3.7mil years old hominid footprints.

  • DAY4: After breakfast, head for a morning game drive at the Western Corridor of Serengeti, Nyasarori plains, along Grumeti River. The key features of the Western Corridor are the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers, running almost parallel to each other, each supporting a bank of evergreen forest. The rivers sustain a permanent game population of zebra, wildebeest, all the predators and birdlife. It is also possible to find large pods of hippo’s and huge crocodiles in the Grumeti River. Return to the camp for hot lunch and relax during the afternoon before you go for an evening game drive with sundowners.

  • DAY5: Enjoy breakfast before your morning game drive, then head to the Eastern part of the park. East Serengeti is remote wilderness area with few tourists and superb off the beaten path for game viewing! Barafu Gorge dissects the remote eastern plains. Rising above the Gorge is the Barafu Kopjes, a series of seven pinkish granite kopjes that straddle the eastern border of the Serengeti. Visit the world famous Gol Kopjes, which boasts the highest concentration of cheetahs in Africa, the world’s fastest land animal. Have picnic lunch at one of the most beautiful landscapes in Serengeti, then continue with your full day of game drive!

     

    Dinner and Overnight at the ASANJA MORU, LUXURY BUSH CAMP, SERENGETI

  • DAY6: After breakfast head for a game drive at Moru Kopjes, the home of Asanja Africa – Moru camp! Moru Kopjes is also a home to Serengeti National Park’s only black rhino population. A small herd of the critically endangered animal still resides in the region and is closely monitored by armed anti-poaching rangers. Other animals, such as lions, elephants and leopards, can also be spotted here. Return to the camp for hot lunch and rest, before you go for an evening game drive with sundowner. A perfect end to a perfect day, enjoy the dramatic shades of the African sunset at Jiwe La Chapati!

     

    Dinner and Overnight at the ASANJA MORU, LUXURY BUSH CAMP, SERENGETI

  • DAY7: Walk to the top of Asanja Hill to enjoy views and your breakfast, followed by a full day game drive at the Central Serengeti! The valley’s river keeps the vegetation plentiful. Wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and many other species can be spotted here on any given day. The large amount of prey also draws the highest population of predators. The golden grassland rustles with the movement of roaming lions, cheetahs and hyenas. This is also one of the best places to find the park’s elusive leopards. Enjoy your lunch from our chef Rashidi at Mawe Meupe picnic site and then continue with your game drive.

  • DAY8: After breakfast, depart for a short game drive with packed lunch. Transfer to airstrip to board your flight back to either Arusha / Kilimanajro / DAR ES Salaam / Zanzibar (Ask us to book the flights) or drive to Arusha (8 hour drive)
