The Asanja Northern Circuit Safari offers some of the Africa’s most diverse safari experiences, consisting of National Parks, game reserves, conservation areas and private concessions. You safari in iconic Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and of course Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park. This is a private safari which means you have a dedicated 4×4 safari vehicle with an English speaking driver \ guide for the full duration of your Asanja Safari.

Pickup and drops from airports like Kilimanjaro, Arusha or an airstrip are also included in the overall cost.

Tarangire National Park

Wildlife Highlights: oryx, gerenuk, elephant, baobab, lesser kudu, African wild dog, lion kori bustard, ground hornbill, ostrich, yellow-collared lovebird, rufous-tailed weaver, ashy starling, dwarf mongoose, red-and-yellow barbet & 550 bird varieties; largest concentration of wildlife behind Serengeti

 

Lake Manyara Park

Wildlife Highlights: elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, hippopotamus, impala, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, bushbuck, leopard, baboon, lesser flamingo, greater flamingo, white pelican, yellow-billed stork, white-breasted cormorant, palm-nut vulture, Ayres’s hawk-eagle, Nile monitor, cobra & greatest biomass density in the world; tree-climbing lions

 

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Serengeti National Park

Wildlife Highlights: wildebeest, zebra, lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, cheetah, gazelle, giraffe, spotted hyena, jackal, aardwolf, serval, agama lizard, rock hyrax, secretary bird, ostrich, black eagle & this is the most visited park in Tanzania; famous for massive migration of ungulates; more than 500 bird species

Itinerary

  • DAY1: Your driver will welcome you at Kilimanjaro / Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire boasts large herds of Elephant and provides excellent habitat for Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and many Antelope species unique to East Africa. Towards evening head to the Asanja selected camp to freshen up and dinner. After dinner go for a Night Game Drive & return to the camp

  • DAY2: After breakfast drive to LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK for a game drive. Highlights of LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, the legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. During evening head to a lodge at Ngorongoro selected by Asanja

  • DAY3: After breakfast go for a day game drive with packed lunch boxes at the NGORONGORO CRATER. Descent into the crater to experience the majestic beauty of caldera. The NGORONGORO CRATER, at 2286m above the sea level, is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meters from the crater floor. It is truly a breathtaking natural wonder. After your game drive in Ngorongoro crater, head to Serengeti National Park

     

    Dinner and Overnight at the ASANJA GRUMETI, LUXURY TENTED CAMP, SERENGETI

  • DAY4: After breakfast head for a game drive at Moru Kopjes, the home of Asanja Africa – Moru camp! Moru Kopjes is also a home to Serengeti National Park’s only black rhino population. A small herd of the critically endangered animal still resides in the region and is closely monitored by armed anti-poaching rangers. Other animals, such as lions, elephants and leopards, can also be spotted here. Return to the camp for hot lunch and rest, before you go for an evening game drive with sundowner.

  • DAY5: Walk to the top of Asanja Hill to enjoy views and your breakfast, followed by a full day game drive at the Central Serengeti! The valley’s river keeps the vegetation plentiful. Wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, gazelles and many other species can be spotted here on any given day. The large amount of prey also draws the highest population of predators. The golden grassland rustles with the movement of roaming lions, cheetahs and hyenas. This is also one of the best places to find the park’s elusive leopards.

  • DAY6: After breakfast, head for a morning game drive at the Western Corridor of Serengeti, Nyasarori plains, along Grumeti River. The key features of the Western Corridor are the Grumeti and Mbalageti rivers, running almost parallel to each other, each supporting a bank of evergreen forest. The rivers sustain a permanent game population of zebra, wildebeest, all the predators and birdlife. It is also possible to find large pods of hippo’s and huge crocodiles in the Grumeti River. Go to the Asanja Grumeti Camp for hot lunch. Continue with your game drive

     

    Dinner and Overnight at the ASANJA MORU, LUXURY BUSH CAMP, SERENGETI

  • DAY7: After breakfast, depart for a short game drive with packed lunch. Transfer to airstrip to board your flight back to either Arusha / Kilimanajro / DAR ES Salaam / Zanzibar (Ask us to book the flights) or drive to Arusha (8 hour drive)
